Application Notes

Culture system: Vero cell culture.
Preparation: Infected cells and culture supernatant are har-vested and concentrated by ultracentrifugation. Following sonication and clarification the suspension is again concentrated by cen-trifugation. The resulting antigen preparation consists of a high concentration of virus and viral components as wellas some cellular material suspended in glycine buffer, pH 9.5.
Inactivation: This product has been treated with Beta-propiolactone. Confirmed inactive by attempted growth under original culture conditions. Since no procedure can guarantee absolute sterility, the reagent should be handled with appropriate safety precautions.
