Rabbit polyclonal to CCL4.Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 4 (CCL4) is a monokine with inflammatory and chemokinetic properties.CCL4 has the capability to bind the chemokine receptor CCR5, and it is one of the major HIVsuppressivefactors produced by CD8+ T-cells. Recombinant CCL4 induces a dose-dependentinhibition of different strains of HIV-1, HIV-2 and SIV. The processed form of CCL4 retains theabilities to induce down-modulation of the surface expression of CCR5 and to inhibit the CCR5-mediated entry of HIV-1 in T-cells.
