It inhibits hepatic steatosis, lobular inflammation, hepatocellular ballooning, and liver fibrosis, while also reducing hepatic hydroxyproline levels. Hydroxy tipelukast is a promising candidate for the study of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH).
